[guiltily, he looks down at his own lap. plays with a loose thread on the sweats. he's fidgeting, as he always does when he's too nervous.]

[but then he looks up and lightly bumps noctis's chest with a fist, keeping it raised for a fist pump. his own eyes are red and puffy, and he feels extraordinarily exhausted after crying like that.]
[ The tears are gone, thankfully. Noctis sighs as the air becomes a little less heavy, resting his hands at his knees. Prompto bumps at his chest and holds out that very same fist, and far be it for Noctis to leave him hanging. With a tired smile, he bumps his friends fist with his own. ]

[ And then, he gently shoves Prompto by the shoulder. ]
[prompto gets shoved over a bit, and the awkward stiffness is gone. he smiles--not his usual smile, but something a lot more genuine; soft around the edges, quiet, if anything.]
