[ Good lord, this entire month is shot. Noctis looks absolutely exhausted by the notion, and he doesn't bother getting into it with Prompto. Ever since seeing the gun, he's been uncomfortable. Knowing what they likely were in another universe doesn't help the now.

This never happened back home.

What takes Noctis out of the kitchen is the mention of Prompto getting his ass kicked for the mistake. Remembering the nasty head injury he'd sustained back at the convention, he comes right on over. Etro hops off his shoulder. ]

Where are you hurt?

[ Assuming that he's been injured. Because it's likely. Noctis takes a seat next to Prompto. ]

[prompto pouts, leaning against noctis soon as he sits beside him.]

You're not feeding me?

[but it's a playful pout]

I didn't literally get my ass kicked, I guess. I got my ear pulled, that kinda thing.

[traumatising. although, he glances at the first aid kit on the coffee table.]

...could do with some help getting my head bandaged again?

[ Prompto leans against him, Noctis manages a sigh with the shake of his head. Mostly to the pout. ]

I should kick your ass for making me worry.

[ It's not a serious statement. But he leans forward and grabs the first aid kit on the table. ]

C'mon. I'll clean that up and you can eat.

[ He shifts, seated so he's facing Prompto with his legs crossed on the couch, first aid kit in his lap. ]

Turn your head.

[prompto turns his head as asked, feeling a little bad that he has apparently made noctis worry. he's no longer pouting, just looking down at his bent leg, playing around with the seams of his pants.]

Sorry. Didn't mean to do that.

[he remains quiet a bit, letting noctis work around the head wound, until...]

I missed you.

[ Noctis opens up the first aid kit, gathering the necessary items to clean up the wound. It's then that he reaches up to Prompto's head, gently starting to peel off the bandage that's already there. ]

Not your fault. It's not like we had much time to keep in touch.

[ Noctis is incredibly careful as he takes off the bandage. It's pretty scabbed up and gnarly, but healing. He reaches down to get the alcohol and a cotton ball, and that's when Prompto says something not... Entirely out of left-field, but enough to make him pause.

I missed you.

His face grows warm, for reasons he doesn't entirely get, and he's not sure how to feel about the way his stomach twists. In his pause, he's simply holding the bottle of alcohol and cotton ball, staring at them. Until he clears his throat and starts wetting it. ]

Same.

[ Very eloquent of a response, yes. Noctis tries to distract himself with carefully dabbing the cotton on Prompto's wound. ]

I'm glad you're okay.

[he winces slightly at the initial contact of cotton and alcohol on his wound, but he takes it bravely after a second. he pulls the towel from around his shoulders and onto his lap, to fold it up.]

Yeah, me too.

[this conversation is sorta awkward, he concludes]

...we met this doctor, and she got angry at us for a bit. We got delegated to monster duty.

So, you know. Thanks for the bullets.

[ Noctis is pretty focused on making sure he takes care of this right. The last thing Prompto needs is to get a nasty infection from a head wound. He scoots a bit forward, awkward as this situation is (he's ignoring that). ]

Just wanted to make sure you had what you needed. It's not exactly safe out there right now.

[ Even if the concept of the gun still kind of freaks him out. He had no issues buying those bullets at all. He tilts forward, neck craned when he can't cover everything from this angle. Despite his own personal awkward feelings, he reaches out and gently grabs Prompto by the chin. ]

Tilt this way.

[ He gently ushers him to shift his head a bit. ]

[tilt he does, smiling a bit but keeping his gaze focused on etro over on the counter, lapping at the milk on the bowl]

And how's your sword coming along?

[ Seems pretty clean now. He sets the cotton ball down, along with the bottle of alcohol that he puts the top back onto. While he sifts through the box for a proper bandage, he shrugs. ]

Still heavy. Took me hours to clean it off.

[ He gestures with the nudge of his nose to the front door, where the engine blade rests against the wall. ]

But it got me through okay. I'm glad I found it.

Obviously, the gun's served you well.

[oh yeah, that's where prompto saw it; he was too focused on just getting the grime off himself he didn't stop for a conversation with the door's guard.]

Yeah. Just your luck the one thing you get is really heavy, though. I didn't think swords were that heavy? What kind of monster buff do you need to have to be able to use it, anyway?

[he slumps against the couch, closing his eyes and keeping his hands over his tummy, as noctis finds the bandaging necessary]

Team Daiquiri, right? Where did you guys go to?

[ He gets a fresh bandage, working to place it on carefully. ]

Ripped. Which will probably never happen.

[ Noctis leans over to make sure he's smoothing this out right. ]

Yeah. That's the team.

There was this weird... Underground bunker or something that we had to go through. A couple Retrospec employees disappeared, so we went looking for clues.

I still haven't wrapped my head around it entirely.

I'm only in this for the monsters, I guess.

[he offers noctis a shrug and a smile, leaning back on the couch and slumping once his head has been bandaged properly]

Can't really care much about the assholes who put us in this situation in the first place, y'know? But, whatever helps us.
