What, like... Sparring?

[prompto turns so he's lying on his back, looking at noctis]

[they don't know how to use beds, apparently]

Yeah, sparring. It'll help us get better at our weapons and learn each others' fighting styles.

[ Despite how sleepy he is, the idea doesn't bother him. Honestly, he could use the training considering what happened. Noctis hums thoughtfully as he thinks on it.

Yeah, clearly not a proper use of bed. But talking to Prompto is nice. ]

I'd be down for it. Just don't kick my ass too hard.

[prompto always has the energy to go through with a joke, is definitely what this is about, purely, as he sits himself up, leans over noctis, and slaps his ass with an open palm]

Can't hear you over the ass kicking I usually deliver your way!

[ Ok, that wakes him up a little. Noctis jolts, rolling over fast to retaliate because it's basically a reflex now. ]

[ Guess who's trying to get you in a headlock in bed. Because this isn't weirdly intimate at all. ]

Jackass, training starts now.

[prompto's immediately kicking and crying foul!! his hands reaching to try and pull at noctis' arms around his head]

The bed is a sacred space!

[ Noctis snorts, still keeping Prompto in place. ]

Says the one who spanked my ass on it. Need I remind you that it's my bed?

Pretty sure that means I make the rules.

[ Noctis looks upward with pursed lips, obnoxiously "in thought". ]

Who's number one here?

[and prompto groans.]

[tiny's happily rolling between them, scruffing about]

Uhhh... Maybe I'll just fall asleep in y'arms.

[ Noctis snorts, reaching around to pat his cheek. ]

That's cute.

Hard to read a bedtime story with my arm around your neck, so I can make something up.

How about you sing me a lullaby?

[huffs... trying to get comfortable in this headlock]

[ At the very least, his grip is loosened. Noctis is practically holding Prompto, mostly with his arm around the guy's collar at this point.

He looks up in thought. Then shrugs. Noctis takes a deep breath before starting to (very obnoxiously) sing this song. Absolutely in Japanese, and he absolutely rocks Prompto back and forth a bit before banging his head and patting Prompto's cheek to the beat. ]

[prompto's just getting jostled the more this goes on]

Let me go, fiend!

Stop chanting!

[ Noctis laughs, stopping with the shake of his head as he lets go. ]

It's not chanting.

It's something.

[he sighs, plopping back down on the bed and curling up under the blankets, up to his head, face pressed to the pillow]

...missed hangin' out like this.

[ He snorts. ]

It's Japanese.

[ Either way, Noctis allows himself to collapse back into the bed, laying on his back, despite his head turning to face Prompto. He smiles thoughtfully. ]

Wish I remembered hanging out like this before.

But it's fine. I like hanging like this now.

[prompto offers noctis a smile, reaching out from his cocoon to poke his forehead lightly]

Okay, mister bilingual. Don't worry about the past. Let's build even better memories now.

[ He feels... Weirdly small right now. Noctis looks at Prompto's smile, feels that sudden poke to his forehead and he's... Thrown off.

Prompto has been nothing but accommodating and caring since he woke up in the hospital. It's been slow-going to adjust to things, but if he has to think about it? It's only been easier because of Prompto. It's like they've started fresh, but have continued what they had. Even if Noctis doesn't remember, he doesn't feel bad about it anymore.

Now he just wishes he can have all of the memories they shared once.

Noctis falls silent, smile fading when he just stares. It's completely involuntary when his face starts to turn a touch red. ]

M...Mmn.

[ Noctis notices if, and he quickly turns his head away. ]

You're a sap. You know that?

I'm doing my job when I embarrass you, so yeah, I know.

[grinning, he tucks himself back into his blanket comfort]

I hope you know this marks the advent of my constant presence on the bed now. It's so soft it's unreal, Noct.

[ He wrinkles his nose, very much embarrassed and more now that Prompto is pointing it out. He rubs at his face, sinking further under the sheets. ]

Yeah, well, just so you know, I spread out.

If you get pushed off, it's not my fault.

[ But he's... Weirdly okay with this. ]

I'll deal.

[judge judy as white noise, the dogs snoring somewhere on the bed, the hum of the air conditioner, and his best friend at his side...]

[prompto's feeling pretty gay right now]
