--hey, dude! Yeah, it's been like that a while.

[prompto's room is small; it can't really be called an apartment. prompto tries to keep it as neat as possible, but the scattered items on the corners of the floor and the rumpled bed and the messy photography things on the kitchen counters + laundry come to show the truth of his lifestyle: he really doesn't spend a lot of time here.]

[he's wearing purple boxers with chocobo print on them and a red, sleeveless tank when noctis walks in, still undecided on the trousers]

Ohh, you've brought Tiny! Hey, girl, how are you?

[he's gonna ruffle her between the ears. rufus perks up from atop prompto's bed (yeah, he took him out for a jog this morning), and barks a few times.]

You can sit on the chair [the only chair in the room] or on the bed. I just gotta dress up and fix my hair real quick. I got the dog stuff in bags out there in the balcony. [the balcony that opens up to another building]

[no big deal] Just make yourself at home!

[he says that as he skips into the bathroom, leaving the door open, right next to the entrance. he's fixing his hair with some gel]

[ Noctis takes a look around and... Yeah, this place is cramped. He can't imagine willingly living in a place like this. But this is a guy who's lived in gigantic manors and penthouses all his life. He doesn't really have a concept of hardship or living within small means. Perhaps that's why he unintentionally feels so out of place and...

Worried? For Prompto. This place doesn't seem all that safe, especially with a broken lock. Noctis takes mental note of that. Wouldn't be much to call a locksmith for him...

No. No, he can't impose on Prompto like that. Sure, they've apparently been best friends a long time, but not long from Noctis' perspective. So this is all still very weird for him. Noctis watches as Prompto affectionately pets Tiny, who's waggling her little fluffy tail in excitement. She's sure to bark back at Rufus with her tiny yip. ]

Right. I got it.

[ He decides to get the bag of stuff first, which he takes from the balcony and throws over his shoulder. He doesn't sit anywhere. Noctis decides to just awkwardly stand near the door. ]

[prompto never invited noctis to his apartment before, so he doesn't have a basis for what his reaction to this is. instead, he's happily oblivious to the fact that noctis is acting like a real rich bitch right now, smiling at his own expression in the mirror when he's happy with how his hair is styled.]

[walking out of the bathroom, he tries closing the front door, but pays it no mind when it doesn't shut in place. instead he heads on over to the kitchen counter, in noctis' line of view, to pick out a pair of pants from the pile of laundry.]

Not much of a view, eh?

[clearly, noct's looking out and about...]

[ah, this pair of jogger pants will work just fine, he thinks, as he pulls them up and then goes by towards the bed to find some matching red shoes to wear]

Almost done!

[ Look, he's accustom to a certain lifestyle and hasn't experienced this first-hand. Blame his upbringing.

Noctis doesn't seem to pay much attention to Prompto fussing over his appearance, and decides to continue awkwardly standing by the door. Wondering how Prompto lives in such small quarters, and remembering that he spends the night at his place a lot since he's gotten home from the hospital.

This is awkward.]

We're just going to my place. Who are you trying to impress?

[called out...?!]

[prompto squawks, jumping to his feet, and taking a couple of steps to face noctis]

I'm not trying to impress anyone! I just... like to look good!

[don't shame him.]

[he turns around and grabs rufus' leash, locking it on the dog's collar, and then goes to look for the back pack he had prepared for himself earlier. there's more dog stuff in it, as well as in this other bag he just remembered he put next to his bed. he slings it over his shoulder, and meets noctis at the door]

[seems to realise something]

Oh. You... walked Tiny all the way here?

[ Noctis is relieved once Prompto finally finishes, offering just a scoff to his defensive response. But there's a little lopsided smile there. Once they're on their way out, he's eager as ever. But Tiny's little paws aren't touching the floor until they're out the door.

Still, he adjusts her leash and color. He stops at Prompto's question, tilting his head. ]

... Yeah? You're not that far off from me.

[prompto shoots him a look, but then grins]

Uh-huh.

[you just like walking tiny, and prompto knows it. he closes the door behind them, rufus taking the lead, and he doesn't even bother to lock it up or anything. it's sad.]

Y'had lunch already?

[rufus sniffs at some potted flowers, then down the stairs he turns, prompto right behind]

Oh! And thanks for lending me your blazer! I think my job interview went really well!

[ Maybe Tiny just has a very cute waddle that Noctis likes to watch, okay?! But that's information you will never have, nor will you got confirmation that he likes it.

But yes... Having a puppy has done some surprising wonders for Noctis' energy. He places Tiny carefully on the ground, unraveling her leash to hold. She wiggles and stretches before waddling fast to catch up with Rufus. She follows along rather well, tail wagging beside her larger pup companion. ]

Oh. Yeah, no problem. I forgot you even borrowed it.

[ It's a fucking designer blazer, Noct. ]

I haven't eaten yet, no. Anything in mind?

[the heaviest thing on the bag on prompto's back is the designer blazer for five hundred bucks. prompto would never forget he has it; that's a month worth of rent.]

I was thinking--

[out the building they go, under the afternoon sun. prompto's basically just letting rufus walk him along]

We go to a street vendor, get one of those to go shawarmas. Y'know the ones. They won't let us take the dogs into a restaurant anyway. Oh, some ice cream afterwards? You down for that?

[ Tiny stops at a bush, taking her time sniffing. It gives Noctis time to ponder over their options, mundane as it may be. ]

Shawarma sounds good.

[ a beat. ]

Actually, I caught a coffee shop near the dog park. Let's do that after we eat instead.

[prompto's a bit surprised that noctis wants to go to a coffee shop at all. noctis has... a lot more energy, than what prompto remembers. it's a big difference, especially, from seeing noctis always in bed, inactive.]

[he can't help but smile]

Y'want coffee to keep you awake? Woah, who are you, dude?

[he walks on the edge of the sidewalk, trying to keep his balance, the arm free of the leash stretched out to the side.]

...sounds good by me though. We're already out, so might as well.

[ Noctis keeps his attention on Tiny through most of the conversation. She's so small, he can't help but worry when he takes her out. But she seems to enjoy walking, and, well...

Truth be told, having the dog as a responsibility has forced him to move around a bit more. Not that he isn't responsible for Etro, but she's pretty independent as a cat. Tiny is so needy, always wanting to play, always wanting to move around. Noctis hadnt noticed he had more energy, so he may have wrinkled his nose at that little remark from Prompto.

He playfully shoves him. ]

I told you. I have good days and bad days.

[ The dog helps. Prompto's consistent company helps. ]

[prompto gets shoved, and he lands on the street, but hardly loses his balance. he's grinning from ear to ear, because he missed this; he missed getting jostled and shoved around by his best friend. he could almost cry from how happy he feels]

[but he doesn't]

[instead, he climbs back up on the sidewalk and walks beside noctis, watching how tiny tries to jog a bit to catch up with rufus' walking. she'll tire out soon enough, at this rate.]

Glad that today's a good day.

[he means that, and doesn't push]

The charger I got you, is it any good? I mean, if you prefer a different one, that is.

[ Noctis shakes his head as Prompto nearly loses balance, snickering a bit. Tiny is quick to waddle her little puppy waddle Prompto's way, pawing at his legs until he gets back his balance. With her out on the street, her fur could get dirty! Noctis leans down and picks her up with the scoop of his arm, his other hand playfully patting at Prompto's shoulder.

He's glad today's a good day, too. But he doesn't speak on that. Noctis... Actually enjoys going out with Prompto like this. Getting fresh air, hearing the bustling sounds of the city as they go by, and carrying around this dog that he has very quickly grown attached to. Which he also doesn't speak on. But she's so fucking cute. ]

It's just a charger? It works, so I'm good.

[ Tiny pants, wiggling her little tail and paws. Noctis takes a second to rub her head, right between the ears. ]

Come on, I'm hungry.

I'm just checking! Some chargers don't do the fast charge if they're not the right model. I kinda guessed, so, I was curious!

[he says nothing of noctis carrying tiny, but he fucking sees you]

[stretching his arms, leash looping downwards onto his elbow, prompto skips ahead a bit, bag jostling behind him. if they turn this corner, they head out of viea village, and then towards a bunch of small stores and restaurants. the shawarma place is nearby]

If you'd hurry!

[waving]

[ Noctis simply shrugs at Prompto's remark about the charger. He's aware of the differences, he just doesn't care.

Prompto starts rushing forward, which earns a scoff from Noctis. Come on, this is a walk not a jog! ]

Seriously?

[ He sighs, holding tight to the bag he has and Tiny as he runs after Prompto. ]

[finally, noctis runs]

[prompto waits for noctis, petting rufus' head. he puts an arm around his friend's shoulders when he reaches him. he's excited for a number of things.]

[he grins, making their way to the shops]

Hey, so, I went for a job interview at the electronics' store I got your charger from. I think it went really well. I might have a shot at it!

[ Noctis sighs when he finally catches up, adjusting his hold of Tiny in his arms and the bag hanging over his shoulder. Prompto gets a hold of him, and he wobbles a bit to it, but he adjusts.

His brow raises at the mention of a job interview. ]

Yeah? Thought you were still making deliveries, though.

I'm turning twenty-one later this year. A little old for a delivery guy.

[he faces forward, smiling. his life plan isn't exactly what he ever envisioned it, but he has some idea of what it is that he wants to aim for. being a forever delivery guy, is not.]

New semester's starting anyway, and I need to focus more in school. Delivery took a lot of my time, and... well, my graders weren't great, and I really need to improve if I wanna keep my scholarship.

[he's unloading a lot of info for noctis about himself in one go]

The electronics store has more concrete hours. Twelve to five, eight to one, three to eight. I can work around that.
