[he takes it back and studies the picture]

How can you tell with confidence that it is?!

[suddenly his mind is racing, imagining perhaps things that he shouldn't imagine. it's lewd, the image that comes to mind; what if she showed more skin? and suddenly all his teenage fantasies of forbidden websites and explicit magazine covers and late night movies on tv seize him up]

[he fumbles where he sits, bringing his legs up and trying to not be indecent] Uh...

[ And yeah, it's nice to look at. But Noctis doesn't let his mind race the way that Prompto does. The reaction is instant, and Noctis recognizes that little squirm that Prompto displays next to him.

[it's like he's jolted with electricity]

[he quickly sets the photograph down, into the envelope where it won't haunt him again]

[he's quick to grab one, fumbling with it. don't worry, it's not loaded]

[ Oh my god? Noctis is trying so hard not to laugh, but it's a battle he's losing quick. He shoves Prompto playfully. ]

[he is wiggling, hunching over himself so that his shirt hides his lap area, all the while he's trying to seem confident and fine. even if he just admitted to the facts]

[ Noctis can't even be mad or jealous. That girl is cute, and they're still just flesh and blood, right? So this is honestly weirdly endearing to him. ]

[ He leans against Prompto's shoulder, bumping him. ]

[ Noctis laughs, suddenly not feeling so bad for getting flustered over Prompto with his guns. ]

Alright, fine. Suffer through that while you play with your new toys.

[his hands are shaking and he's bright red, with noctis' laughter filling his ears. he can't really focus on what he's doing]

She's-- she's a goddess, okay. Her curves are perfect and, and... a-and...

[he can't even say it]

[stop teasing him]

[ The laughter dies down a little, and Noctis just leans against the wall. Watching Prompto. ]

Should I be jealous?

[prompto's fidgeting, but he's... managing with his guns. he puts quicksilver away in the box, and picks up one of the newest additions. the cocytus looks really cool, and prompto wonders if he could ever make use to try it out? it's perhaps stupid to think like that.]

[but then again, guns are also something that put a lot of people on the edge.]

[oh, the bullets are -- a different sort. could he get those somewhere...?]

[ Noctis wears a lopsided smile to that. Really, the question was a joke. He playfully swats at Prompto’s shoulder. ]

I don’t think so. You’re both hot blondes.

[ But eh, more for him, right? Noctis reaches for one of the smaller guns, curiously taking a look at it. He’s never really held one for very long. ]

Looks like you were a pretty skilled shooter.

Don't try and deny it. She totally is out of my league.

[but he smiles, grateful to noctis for the vote of confidence. it's pretty clear though, how nervous and awkward he is standing beside the girl on the photograph.]

[his attention turns instead to noctis picking up one of the guns--the calamity pistol, if he remembers right.]

Yeah, huh? I remember how to use the guns, too. Just never had a chance to show off in front of you yet.

[ Honestly, for all the nerves that guns spark in Noctis, they don't scare him. It's just he needs a warning when he's about to drive around with a corvette trunk filled with weapons that could kill multiple people at once.

He holds Calamity up, letting it glimmer in the dim light. It's a pretty cool gun. And he's only really seen Prompto use them on a single occasion. Besides in his memory.

Noctis hands the pistol back over. ]

I don't think we've shown each other what we can really do yet.

If you wanted me to shoot you, you could just ask.

[lock and load--but he's teasing. he won't point the gun he's holding at noctis]

[ Noctis knows Prompto doesn’t mean it seriously, so he can easily play along. He perks an eyebrow. ]

I’d bet money I could dodge every single shot.

[ Dont threaten him with a good time. ]

[ Oh snap. ]

[ Huh. Okay then. Noctis pats at his own knees and gets up. ]

Might as well make a full spar out of it then.

[ Still smirking. ]

[continues organizing his guns so he can put them down in the box]

[ Noctis reaches down and snatches a pistol again, holding it by the barrel towards Prompto. ]

[ Hes dead serious. ]

[he looks up, hesitating before holding the gun]

Are you sure? We could get in trouble and, besides, I don't want to shoot you...

You’re not going to be able to.

[ Still smirking, he waves the gun a little. ]

I don't know if I should consider this hot or a mistake.

[fine, fine. he takes it, gets up, and puts the rest of the guns inside the box before putting everything back in the broom closet. he tosses the duffel bag in his room and makes sure no one would notice the closet door was even opened.]

[he gives noctis a look, patting his back before holstering the gun at the back of his trousers. it's hidden by his coat, it's fine.]

[ Honestly, he should be regretting this in a way, but now he’s feeling a whole new outlook on this. Weird nostalgia that doesn’t make sense. And also, yeah, this is a bit thrilling in a way. Noctis is pleased when Prompto takes his gun back. ]

[ A very hot mistake. Noctis starts walking towards the door, waving his hand in the air as he jokes: ]

If you land a shot, stick your finger in it and twist it around. That’ll be hot.

But Noctis trusts Prompto. ]

[he makes a face at that, grabbing for his keys and turning off the lights as he leads the way outside]
