Dude, I would've fallen asleep on the floor had you not opened the door.

[with a bit of a limp, he proceeds towards the couch, and drops himself unceremoniously onto it, wincing in pain a bit but soon stretching to stretch out any kinks]

Could sleep for days...

Mmh...

[ Noctis shuffles over to the linen closet, grabbing a few extra pillows and blankets. He's still rather exhausted himself, so he doesn't argue with going right back to sleep.

He comes back with an armful of pillows and blankets, one eye open as he catches Prompto limping. Noctis sits down close by, handing over a pillow. ]

... You hurt again?

[prompto is quick to hug the pillow, pressing his face into it; it smells clean and it's so soft, he makes a sound of contentment against it. he curls around it, looking up at noctis blearily, hair mussed and cheek squished into the soft material]

Got a couple rough fights until 'bout a few hours ago.

[he stretches an arm out, pressing fingers onto one of the cushions]

Huge lizardmen, some gooey things... One of the lizard-dudes knocked me back onto the street. Could be worse.

[like his moped. rip]

[he winces at the memory, and shakes his head]

Everything's back to normal now though.

[ With Prompto plopped on the larger part of the couch, Noctis has settled on the l-shaped portion, finding himself pretty comfortable rather quick. Getting up seems even harder now, especially with Prompto'a telling of what was out there. There's relief in knowing everything is back to normal, but there's still worry in hearing he's been injured again.

Noctis wears a look of concern, but it's sort of hard to find with how tired he looks. Prompto doesn't seem in any need of emergency help, and his head isn't busted up as badly anymore, so he settles. ]

I'm gonna trust that if you need anything, you'll tell me.

[ He yawns, laying down on the couch. ]

Glad everything's okay now. And that you're here.

Yeah, you totally missed me.

[prompto snickers and proceeds to nudge at noctis's ankle--which is the closest body part to him. nudge, nudge.]

Hey. Go back to bed. Couch can't be comfortable for the Prince of Naps.

[ Noctis wrinkles his nose, scoffing as he nudges Prompto back in return. He flushes at the calling him out for "missing" Prompto. Much as it's true, he won't admit it. ]

Shut up.

[ He sounds absolutely exhausted, and so it's easy for him to forget he just arranged a place for Prompto to sleep. Noctis taps his foot again. ]

You should sleep in a bed. Couch can't be comfortable for you, either.

[ Clearly because Prompto had been through hell. Noctis doesn't quite realize what he's doing when he makes the offer. ]

[he sits up on his knees suddenly, grinning]

Are you offering your bed?

[your incredibly soft bed that is definitely out of this world?]

[ His eyes go right back to falling shut. Noctis crosses his arms, head bowing forward. He really should get back to bed...

Prompto asks if he's offering his bed and still, sleepy as he is, he shrugs one shoulder. ]

Sure. Go for it.

I knew you're my best friend for a reason.

[the bed]

[suddenly, having some hidden burst of energy, prompto jumps off the couch, slams the pillow down on noctis in a playful show of friendship, and hurries down the hall]

I'm gonna shower then! Real quick! Ohhh boy! [you can hear him further away, but he's definitely speaking loudly] SOFT BED!!

[...in a couple of minutes, the steam from the shower will pervade the hall]

[ Noctis huffs as the pillow makes impact, absolutely half asleep. He dismissively waves as Prompto gets all excited and energetic. There's some sleepy silence as Prompto heads to the shower. Eventually, he gets up, still not realizing what he's offered as he shuffles back to bed.

Noctis plops down with a sigh, pulling the blanket over his head. ]

[prompto takes too long in the shower, mostly because it's hot and his muscles scream at being able to finally properly relax. besides, he's got too much grime on himself. this likely results in noctis being far too asleep to notice how long he takes, and prompto has no trouble finding spare, comfortable clothes to change into. noctis will forgive him later.]

[and so he lies down on the side, tugging at the blanket. dogs and cat are already trying to find a spot to lie down on atop them both.]

Hey, dude.

[ Noctis knocks out pretty quickly. He doesn't stir at all, even when Prompto goes through his stuff. It's not until Tiny hops all over him to find a place on the bed that he wakes up. He groans softly, wrinkling his nose as he turns over, coincidentally facing Prompto when he crawls in. ]

Mm...

[ He pushes his face into his pillow. ]

Too tired...

[is noctis okay? is what prompto wonders, vaguely, but then smiles, knowing it's just his friend being lazy as always.]

Yeah, I know. You mind if I turn on the TV? To kill the silence, y'know.

[ Absolutely lazy as always. But he's not at all grumpy, at least. Usually, he is, but he hasn't seen Prompto in a while. So he's pretty agreeable. ]

Uh-huh.

[ He sits up, taking a sharp breath as he reaches over to his night stand for the remote. He hands it to Prompto. Still seated upright, he leans against the head board. ]

[prompto is all blankets, except for his chin up and his arms, which come out from underneath the blanket to hold onto the remote.]

Thanks!

[and he starts pressing buttons, glancing at the tv from over himself.]

What's good at this time...?

[ He crosses his arms again, both eyes still closed, yet sitting up for the sake of apparently watching some television with Prompto. He's not at all bothered by this, yet, and quite comfortable. Probably because of how tired he is. ]

Judge Judy's on.

[ Don't fucking judge him, she's amazing. ]

Before eight in the morning?

Someone's a little too intent on reruns, I bet.

[he inputs the channel with judge judy, sets the remote down, and then fixes his pillow so it's partly on noctis's legs as the other remains seated]

[finally, prompto yawns, comfortable]

Everyone who was missing... they came back. No one outside our Retrospec group remembers monsters, or how messy things were. Nothing's destroyed, anyway. It's nuts, but... I'm glad home is back to being home.

[ He slowly opens his eyes, pretty keen on watching television. He's never up this early, and so he doesn't often get to watch this show. Reruns or no, he'll never get bored of this show. Noctis sniffles, rubbing at his sleepy face, unmoving as Prompto gets himself comfortable. ]

S'everyone safe?

Last I checked.

[he shuffles, lying down on his side so he's mostly got his back against the headboard of the bed, legs curled in front of himself.]

Beat up and injured and tired as hell, but it seems we all made it out alright.

Just in time for school.

Pff.

[ Noctis scoffs, wearing a sleepy and lazy sort of smirk at the mention of school. He slides down a bit, eventually laying back down on his side so he can watch the television a bit. ]

Thank god for small miracles.

[ He yawns again. ]

Crazy as it might've been... It was pretty badass. I had no idea you were good with a gun.

To be fair, neither did I.

[he keeps quiet a while, considering through his sleep mind just what it means that he is good with a gun; how that changes things. isn't it weird that he isn't nervous about using a gun at all?]

[he knows noctis felt that way, at first.]

What's with your sword anyway?

[ Noctis gives a lazy shrug of his shoulder. He considers it for a moment, too, how he'd found this sword seemingly at the best moment and felt the need to go for it immediately. But nothing compares to the feeling of it being familiar in his hands. Heavy as it was. ]

Dunno.

It... I don't remember entirely, but I think it's the one I used in that fight with Deadeye.

Or looks like it.

[prompto lifts a fist up in the air]

[you know what he wants]

Whatever it was, you were pretty badass with it, too.

[ He turns his gaze, catching the request. The smirk comes back, and he lazily lifts his arm to tap the side of Prompto's fist with his own. ]

Huh.

You really think so?

[ It was SO HEAVY. ]

[and just like that, it feels like the world is all better]

Uh-huh. I mean, it looked heavy, but it seems like you got the hang of it at some point. Are you keeping it in your closet or something?
