[ Noctis reaches back to turn and watch as Prompto places... Whatever that bag is into his trunk. And it's heavy, apparently, because the car shakes a little when it's dropped in.

When Prompto gets in the car, Noctis just kind of looks at him. With an expectation that clearly was wrong, so he's a bit embarrassed and dumbfounded when Prompto flicks his cheek and tells him to drive. ]

Oooookay.

[ He starts the car up again and takes off. ]

There a body in that bag or what?

Why does everyone keep thinking that?

[prompto, you don't get to sound huffy]

[after a moment, he goes back to being bouncy and excited, but it's the kind of excited where he's kind of freaked out.]

I got more guns.

[ Noctis slams on the breaks. ]

More guns?

[prompto, who was sat between the two seats, suddenly finds himself the recipient of inertia or some force or another as he nearly launches forward, hands first. he slams them onto the radio to stop his collision, and he slams right back onto the backseat.]

[the radio turns on a random station, and prompto groaning and whining]

Dude, what gives!

There's a giant duffle bag filled with guns. Multiple. In the trunk of my car.

[ The car shook.

Nevermind the fact that he totally thought this would be a "hey let's try sex in the car" thing. Noctis isn't going to bring attention to that. IGNORE THE RADIO STATION. ]

I realize!

[noctis, he knows.]

I'm trying to get them to my place A-S-A-P!

[he pushes forward again, this time slumping smaller into himself, hands put together like in prayer]

Please help me out? I'll let you see 'em!

[ God damn it, he's begging. Why does he do this to himself? Why is he doing this?

Because he loves this stupid dork and he knows they're probably given to him from Retrospec, because he was a gunner in their past lives. But, damn it, they aren't those people anymore. Noctis rolls his eyes and leans back in his seat, pinching the bridge of his nose. ]

Let's just get this over with.

[ Someday, he's going to get arrested. Noctis sighs and starts the car again, driving quickly towards Prompto and Cloud's apartment. ]

You owe me big time.

[prompto waits until the actual go, and when the car thrums back to life, prompto does a fist pump into the air and grins wide]

Whoo!

Dude, don't worry about it. It'll be totally worth it!

[and he settles back on the seat, tapping his fingers to the eclectic music playing on the radio]

Du-du-du-du...

[ Thankfully, the apartment isn't that far away. They park the car, and Noctis gets out towards the trunk. He can't believe he agrees to this every fucking time.

He opens the trunk, hands on his hips. ]

Did... Are these all from Retrospec?

Yup.

[he says, casually standing over the trunk. he then elbows noctis and gets to work, feeling for the pointy end of the circular saw he's lovingly dubbed pizza cutter.]

Okay, be careful. This end's pointy.

[so he picks it up from that end, obviously, and tugs up. it's a bit heavy, but he manages.]

Y'wanna get the other end?

[ Noctis can't believe he's doing this. He really can't. Much as it's cool that Prompto was the sharpshooter of the team and all that, this is very dangerous.

But, he loves Prompto, and apparently you do crazy things for the ones you love. So. ]

Got it.

[ At least he's been working out. So lifting it isn't as detrimental to him as it may have been previously. ]

Y'okay?

[they move away from the car. he gives noctis the okay to put his end down so he can close and lock his car, and soon enough they're making their way into the apartment. it sure looks suspect, but thankfully no one stops them to ask questions and they don't really bump into anyone when they make it to the elevator.]

[prompto's just taking out his keys--fumbling over them--and then when they reach their floor he keeps on. opening the door and moving inside the apartment, he's glad to find that cloud isn't home yet.]

Okay. Coast is clear.

Follow me.

[he leads noctis down the hall towards his bedroom, but stops at the broom closet. a door one wouldn't consider twice. they haven't really put anything in there, their cleaning supplies in the laundry room.]

Okay. I'll just put them in here for now until I find out what to do with them.

[bag on the floor, he opens up the closet, to reveal the bazooka and a box where two of his guns are already inside of.]

[time to open up this duffel bag...]

[ There's plenty of anxiety behind carrying a heavy bag full of guns through an apartment complex. Not everyone living in Recolle is affected by Retrospec. Not everyone has the app that alters their entire fucking concept of reality, so they could easily cause panic with people.

Both of them are quiet from the walk to the elevator to the entrance to Prompto's apartment. And when Prompto speaks low and cautious, this honestly feels like some grand cover up of some sort.

And... Okay. Noctis is just enough of a thrill seeker these days to get a little excited over this. Almost like they're hardened criminals. There have been plenty of moments since his leaving the hospital that his adrenaline has spiked. During is a bit hard to handle, but after? It's insane.

He'll just... Keep the weird, bubbling excitement he's feeling inside of him to himself.

There's a bit of a reverie that follows, making Noctis completely silent as they shove the bag in the broom closet with a thud. He exhales and stands up straight, cracking his back because damn that was heavy.

And then Prompto opens up the bag. The first thing Noctis sees is the bazooka.

Why the fuck is his face red? ]

Holy shit.

Yeah, pretty insane, huh?

[prompto, as always, is oblivious to what's going on in noctis' head. he sets the bazooka aside in a hallway that seems more narrow than usual. the safety's on, but he double checks. then, the box with quicksilver and lion heart gets put in the hallway, too, as he opens it up to reveal the firearms. he takes one last gander in the closet, before pulling out this bad boy, clip and all, and sets it down next to the bazooka.]

[now he focuses on the bag. from inside it, he picks out one gun, and another, and a final one. he sets them on the floor before pulling out the real star of the show.]

[prompto's grinning up at noctis, propping up the circular saw, saw-side up]

Don't know what the hell this is, but isn't it super cool?

[of course, it's terrifying, though]

I was thinking of taping some towels on the saw so that it wouldn't hurt anyone accidentally if the door is ever opened...

[he's really got a collection here.] What d'you think?

[ It's like he's watching some fucked up version of Mary Poppins, with how many guns Prompto starts to pull out from the bag. Plenty of guns that can be held in one hand, one that requires two, a bazooka, and then the main event. A giant, circular saw. Noctis takes a step back as Prompto leans it up against the wall, and his face is still bright, hot red.

Thank the six that Prompto is so goddamn oblivious most of the time.

Noctis looks bewildered, and very curious, still riding on this weird excitement that he's feeling. It doesn't seem to want to go away. He steps forward, cautiously reaching forward with one hand, extending his index finger to carefully touch the edge of the saw. Softly enough that it doesn't prick his finger, but he can certainly feel its sharpness. ]

You used these back then? It's almost overkill.

[ Would he have really needed this? ]

Dunno, but I guess so?

[he moves away from the saw and gets some towels. okay, so maybe he won't tape them to it, but he's rolling them over the edges. it'll be fine; it could be worse.]

Alright. That one's going in first.

[he looks up to make sure he's not gonna dent the doorframe, but the circular saw makes it inside with little trouble. thank goodness. he turns to grab the bazooka, setting it next to and against the saw. now, he focuses his efforts on the machine gun, putting the butt against his shoulder and checking the safety pin. he's pointing down at the floor--if it helps any nerves--and he's pressing the magazine release lever before catching the magazine in his hand.]

--cool.

[the magazine goes in the box, and the machine gun against the bazooka.]

[now he sits on the floor, because he's so ready to check out the other guns]

Oh, there was like something else in an envelope. Is it in the bag still?

[inside the envelope, this photograph]

[ Noctis watches as Prompto takes everything apart and mindfully places things where they should be, cautiously sitting down beside him. He’s not much for help, considering he doesn’t know the first thing about guns.

Well... He does. If he looks at a gun long enough, he vaguely feels like he can handle it. Likely owed to the strange skills he picked up on recently. But it’s feint.

He calms down after a while. The excitement winds down, and so does the flush on his cheeks. For now. Noctis crosses his legs on the floor, leaning over when Prompto shows him the picture. ]

Hm?

Who’s that?

[prompto... doesn't know, and so he takes a gander, cocking his head to the side, holding quicksilver in his hands]

Dunno...

Whoever it is, she's really cute.

[there's a flush on his cheeks now, shoulders rising in embarrassment up to his ears]

Maybe a gi-girlfriend...?

[ He cranes his neck to get a better look, brow raised. The girl is definitely cute, definitely generous with what she shows off. But she has a nice smile, which is what Noctis lingers on.

Who's to say if he and Prompto were into each other in their past lives? It's not totally out of the question. So Noctis doesn't mind this discussion.

Still, he can't help but take an opportunity to pick on Prompto and rip him. ]

[ Noctis pats Prompto on the back. ]

Hold on to that hope, buddy.

[prompto immediately shoves noctis' hand off of him. he knows when he's being a shit.]

Dude, rude. It could totally be! I mean, she looks like she's too good for me...

[his eyes roam back to the picture, inching closer to it. he should be focusing on any detail he can make out in the picture--like hammerhead, perhaps--but he's focused on the girl.]

[prompto's so red right now; he's terrible with girls.]

Is she wearing a bikini? [really close to his face now] Y'think it's a g-string?

[ This is clearly what couples do: over-analyze a woman who's dressed in the bare minimum. He's not quite into it, but it's not unattractive.

Noctis snatches the picture from Prompto's hand and takes a closer look himself. And he mainly focuses in on her chest first, eyes narrowing. Noctis would be a liar if he said he said the flush on his cheeks has nothing to do with this unknown girl's chest. ~~Everyone likes boobs~~.

He hands it back. ]

Bikini with a g-string bottom, yup.

[he takes it back and studies the picture]

How can you tell with confidence that it is?!

[suddenly his mind is racing, imagining perhaps things that he shouldn't imagine. it's lewd, the image that comes to mind; what if she showed more skin? and suddenly all his teenage fantasies of forbidden websites and explicit magazine covers and late night movies on tv seize him up]

[he fumbles where he sits, bringing his legs up and trying to not be indecent] Uh...

Her pants are halfway down? It's not hard.

[ And yeah, it's nice to look at. But Noctis doesn't let his mind race the way that Prompto does. The reaction is instant, and Noctis recognizes that little squirm that Prompto displays next to him.

He--

Noctis raises a brow. ]

Are you--

Did you just pop a boner over that?

[it's like he's jolted with electricity]

[he quickly sets the photograph down, into the envelope where it won't haunt him again]

Leave me alone! I-I'm checking the guns!

[he's quick to grab one, fumbling with it. don't worry, it's not loaded]

[ Oh my god? Noctis is trying so hard not to laugh, but it's a battle he's losing quick. He shoves Prompto playfully. ]

Don't play like that, I've seen that wiggle before. You just stuck your whole head in the gutter.
